Module 4 Group Assignment

Q Background As a well-seasoned human resource officer, you have a firm grasp of how interaction and business communications can be impacted by culture. By understanding these cultural differences, your CEO has tasked you to review all business entertaining activities when hosting members from other countries. Your organization, which is located in the United States, has recently begun merger talks with an organization located in Saudi Arabia. The first meeting in Saudi Arabia was a great success, and your firm has set up a second meeting at your headquarters in Miami where their top three executives will meet your team. You have met with the planning committee to review their itinerary which includes the menu for the business dinner at a top restaurant that overlooks the ocean. The director of the planning committee has managed many corporate events in the past, but this will be his first involving a country from the middle east. In reviewing the menu, you notice a list of wine, scotch, and liquor options. The entree options offer swordfish, Kobe steak, portabella chicken, and pork tenderloin. As a gift, the planning director has proposed a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 18k/ss Gold Two Tone 1003 Watch for all of the executives. The director has also planned private entertainment where he has proposed a Latin dance mix comprised of couples doing the cha-cha, jive, paso doble, and samba. Assignment Prepare a PowerPoint presentation for your meeting with the director by outlining what you liked about the proposed evening, any necessary changes, a justification for any potential changes, and additions or substitutions that might be necessary. Each group member will need to prepare 3 slides with their voice narrating the material. Please have each presenter introduce themselves on their first slide. The group will use Zoom, Screen Cast O-Matic (Both Free), or another tool to capture the presentation and audio on each slide. Each team member will be responsible for presenting the section that they worked on. After meeting with the planning committee and reviewing the itinerary, it came to my notice the menu which is set for the business dinner at one of the top restaurant which overlooks the ocean. The most important thing is that this director has planned many such corporate events in the past but this will be his first time where a country from the Middle East will remain involved. I was too much excited to see the entire menu. At the very first instance, I noticed a list of wine, scotch and some wide variety of liquors. On the other hand, in the entrée, the guests were provided with options of swordfish, Kobe steak, and portabella chicken and pork tenderloin as well. Not only this, the director has even planned for gifting the guests a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 18k/ss Gold Two Tone 1003 Watch for all the executives.
